Shima Monfared

Shima Monfared is a film editor and director known for her work in short films, documentaries, and commercials. She completed her studies in theater. She serves as the Festival Co-President and Co-Founder of the AGIFF International Film Festival in Toronto. Additionally, she teaches cinema at the “Ark Gate Films” company in Toronto and has contributed to international film projects in France, Thailand, and Canada.

Shima’s editing credits include award-winning films such as “Twenty” and “There,” which received significant recognition at festivals including Karlovy Vary and the Thessaloniki Film Festival. She was nominated for the Best Editing Award at the 17th Annual International Iranian Fajr Film Festival for her work on “Absolute Rest.” Her debut short film, “Role,” was screened at the 26th Fajr Film Festival and received nominations for Best Short Film at the Second Great Iranian Film Critics and Writers Festival. “Role” also earned the Golden Butterfly award for Best Short Film at the 21st International Film Festival for Children and Youth.
